1. A piece of Chalk
If your family was so poor that paper was a valuable commodity (even more so if it was soft and flushed well) then you may have had to resort to hopping on the pavement whilst reciting rhymes about people kissing in trees. To make it more challenging you could draw a table and then throw a stone which you had to collect as you hopped and jumped along the table and back. If you couldn’t afford chalk you could draw the table on any hard rough surface with a pebble making it the cheapest game on our count-down!
Materials required: 1 x bit of chalk or a light coloured stone
